H.E. Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance, met today with H.E. Mr. Alikhan Smailov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the accompanying delegation currently visiting the country.

Discussions touched on the bilateral relations between the two countries, and joint cooperation in the trade, investment, and industrial fields, as well as means to bolster and develop this cooperation.

Talks also focused on bilateral trade policies and the efforts exerted by both sides to confront the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, the two sides discussed preparations for holding the next session of the Qatari-Kazakh Joint Committee on Economic, Commercial, and Technical Cooperation, which will be held in Doha.

H.E. the Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Acting Minister of Finance additionally highlighted the economic policies established by Qatar to support the private sector. These policies included the incentives, legislations, and promising opportunities that were put in place to encourage investors, businessmen, and companies to invest in Qatar.
